Tis’ the season... for shoplifting, break-ins, scammers and other types of scrooges attempting to steal folk’s holiday spirit. With the economy on the way down, crime is sure to be on the way up according to Spencer County Sheriff’s Deputy Kyle Bennett.
Taylorsville Police Chief Toby Lewis said they have had reports of shoplifting and a quick-change artist in Taylorsville in the last week. Not only are these incidents occurring in town, the county officers have seen an increase in crime as well.
