If Jack Proctor has his way, the Taylorsville City Commissioner will be serving his third two-year term after the November election.

“I’m really fired up about what Spencer County has to offer,” said Proctor. “I have no axe to grind. I’m simply for keeping Taylorsville a nice city that folks want to live in.”

Proctor said he’s especially excited about seeing the fruition of ambitious projects started during his tenure, including Main Street’s second phase and repairing the city’s flooding problems on Houston Ct. He is also looking toward helping with the city’s potential growth after the sewer expansion project is complete. One area of progress Proctor would like to see is in attracting white-collar jobs to the city.

“With the quality of people we have, there no reason why we can’t attract an office park,” he said.

Proctor worked as the executive director of Kosair Charities for 20 years before volunteering on the board of that organization for seven years, two years as president.
