The following cases were heard in Spencer District Court January 11 by Judge David Hayes:

Misdemeanors:
Stanley Earl Watts Jr., fourth-degree assault with minor injury, amended to second-degree disorderly conduct, guilty; 30 days concurrent.

Robert M. Gnagie, possession of marijuana, guilty, 365 days conditionally discharged for 2 years.

Traffic:
Ryan P. Zinner, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, first, guilty, $500 court cost, $450 conditionally discharged, Kentucky Alternative Program.

Angela S. Smith, second-degree disorderly conduct, guilty, 30 days conditionally discharged for two years, no unlawful contact.

Damon S. Davidson, alcohol intoxication in a public place, first and second offense, guilty, $25 court costs.

Damon S. Davidson, resisting arrest, guilty, 90 days conditionally discharged for two years, Kentucky Alternative Program monitoring.

Tyler W. Story, no operators/moped license, guilty, $50 fine and $143 court costs; failure to wear seat belt, guilty, $25 fine.

Michael J. Murphy, failure to wear seat belt, guilty, $25 fine paid.

Misdemeanor:
Stuart D. Bray, theft by unlawful taking amended to theft by unlawful taking under $500, 180 days, two years conditional discharge, $153 court costs.

Gary A. Aldridge, operative a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, first offense, pled guilty, operator’s license suspended for 30 days, alcohol/drug education program, $585 court costs after waiving fines.

Adam L. Ashcraft, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, pled guilty, operator’s license suspended for 30 days, alcohol/drug education program, $728 court costs.

Cory J. Dunlap, speeding 10 miles over the speed limit, pled guilty, state traffic school, $143 court costs.

Justin T. Gable, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, pled guilty, four days served, operator’s license suspended 30 days, alcohol/drug education program, $728 court costs.

Kevin Patrick P. Hume, failure to wear seat belts, pled guilty, $25 court cost.

Mark A. Little, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, first degree, pled guilty, $500 fine and $143 court costs, conditionally discharged $400 over 12 months.

Shannon L. McCauley, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, first degree, pled guilty, $500 fine and $143 court costs, conditionally discharged $400 over 12 months.

Thomas C. Newman, speeding 10 miles over the speed limit, pled guilty, state traffic school, $143 court costs.

Jessica M. Ratterman, failure to produce insurance card, amended to failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, first offense, pled guilty, $500 fine and $143 court costs.

Misdemeanor:
Brandon S. Sparks, theft by unlawful taking amended to theft by unlawful taking under $500, pled guilty, 180 days, two years conditional discharge, $153 court costs.

Paul D. Yates, possession of marijuana, guilty, $100 fine and $154 court costs.

The following cases were heard by a Spencer County Grand Jury:
Michael James Murphy, 33, of Mount Eden, was indicted June 30 on one felony count of receiving stolen property under $10,000 when, on or about Dec. 1, 2010, he knowingly had in his possession, property of a value under $10,000, which he knew had been stolen or which he had reason to believe had been stolen.

Rudolph V. Adams, of Louisville, was indicted June 30 on one felony count of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument when, on or about March 17, with knowledge that it was forged and with intent to defraud, deceive or injure another, he had in his possession a forged instrument.

Marion S. Berryman, 29, of Fisherville, was indicted June 30 on one felony count of theft by unlawful taking when, on or about May 19, he took or exercised control of property of a value less than $10,000 but more than $500 belonging to another man with intent to deprive the owner thereof, and on one felony county of second-degree burglary when, on or about May 19, he knowingly and unlawfully entered or remained in a dwelling located at 79 Scarsdale Lane in Fisherville with intent to commit a crime.

Correction:
A property transfer in the July 6 edition of The Spencer Magnet should have read:
Donald Wayne Ingram and Shawna D. Ingram, Taylorsville, to Kathy Lynn Bridwell and Larry Bridwell, Bloomfield, tract 2B as shown on the minor plat for tract 2, divided, in plat cabinet, slide 56, as described in deed book 238 page 501, $1, fair market value $49,500.
