Regionally located (Louisville) Rumpke Consolidated Companies, Inc. entered into an agreement to purchase certain waste collection, hauling and disposal assets from Republic Services, Inc. in Mansfield and the Cleveland area.

The acquisition will include the 300 acre Noble Road Landfill in Mansfield, the Richland County Transfer Station and the Harvard Road Transfer Station in Cuyahoga County. Rumpke will also begin servicing approximately 30,000 residential and 3,000 commercial customers in Ashland, Huron, Knox, Lorain, Medina, Morrow, Richland and Wayne counties. More than 60 vehicles involved in the transaction will service the area’s customers. Rumpke is also looking forward to retaining the many quality employees at the facilities.

“This business decision was made possible through the dedication and hard work of our employees, and together we are very much looking forward to not only providing excellent service to our new customers, but also to becoming an active member of the Mansfield and greater Cleveland communities,” said Bill Rumpke Jr., chief operating officer at Rumpke.

Rumpke and Republic Services will finalize the details of the transition during the next 90 days, including notification of employees and existing customers.

“One of our top priorities is communicating with the people directly involved in the acquisition,” added Rumpke.
