SCHS/SCMS Freshman Orientation

SCHS/SCMS Freshman Orientation will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday  at the SCHS gym. All 8th grade students and parents are invited and encouraged to attend. Students will complete a pre-scheduling form for their freshman classes.

Nominations for SCMS SBDM

Nominations for two parent representatives to serve on the Spencer County Middle School SBDM are being accepted through today. Anyone interested in running for a parent representative position should submit a photo, letter of interest and a resume to the school. This information will be used to inform parent voters. Send to SCMS, c/o Angela Greenwell, 1263 Mt. Washington Rd, Taylorsville KY 40071. Elections for parent representatives will be held all day Friday in the SCMS library from 7:05 a.m. until 3 p.m. and before and after the chorus concert from 5:15 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the great hall. All incoming middle school parents, step-parents, and legal guardians can vote.

Early Childhood


Call Spencer Co. Preschool at 477-3210 for a brief prescreening interview if you have concerns that your child’s development may be delayed in the areas of hearing, vision, cognitive thinking skills, speech/language, self-help adaptive skills, socialization, and/or motor development. This screening is offered to Spencer County children 3 or 4 years of age. The screening will be held May 26-27 by appointment at Spencer County Preschool.

Spring Fling at TES

Come one, come all! Taylorsville Elementary School’s 4th annual Spring Fling will be Friday beginning at 5 p.m. at the school. There will be something for everyone – games, huge slide, cotton candy, pork chop dinner, auction, 2nd annual bake-off contest, D.J., cake walk, kiss the pig contest, car rider raffle, cornhole tournament and more!

Project Graduation cookbooks

The seniors of SCHS and their parents have just completed a cookbook. They are on sale now for $10 until May 1. If interested, please contact any member of the senior class of call Connie at 538-4785. All proceeds from this cookbook will go toward Project Graduation.
