Spencer Countians may be breathing a sign of disbelief this October when tax bills begin rolling out. That’s because, of the 10 possible taxing entities that typically reach into residents’ wallets, only two are planning to raise rates in the coming year.
The county library and the school district are both proposing increases to real estate property taxes and personal property, like cars, boats and motorcycles.
Collectively, residents can expect increases of $25 for a $100,000 home and $29.10 more for every $10,000 in personal property.
