The Kentucky Association for Academic Competition hosted the annual Governor’s Cup Alumni Shootout on Dec. 27 at the Hyatt Regency in Lexington.

Spencer County High School participated in the competition for the first year with a team of eight players, the second-largest team from a single school. The team included players spanning three different graduating classes and SCHS alumni who now live across the state and in other states, including Georgia, Missouri and Illinois.
The tournament was played round robin-style and only the first and second place finishers were named. However, the SCHS team members enjoyed participating and reuniting as a team.
