During the week of Nov. 30 through Dec. 4, the National Honor Society held its annual coat drive at Spencer County High School. With the help of students from Mrs. Fickel’s class and donations from Dairy Queen, we were able to collect 130+ coats. Taylorsville Dairy Queen donated coupons of either a free Grillburger or a free biscuit and gravy meal for everyone that donated a coat. The students are to be commended for their great generosity at this time of need. Several students brought in 2 or 3 coats. These coats will be distributed by the SCHS Youth Service Center (Vonda Martin and Lenna Allison). The project was coordinated by senior project manager Chelsea Gross and sponsor Mary Baldock.
Pictured are student Josh Holmes and Instructional Assistant Mr. Milton Vasser who, along with some other students, helped collect the coats each morning.
The National Honor Society would like to thank everyone that made this project such a success.
