Spencer County Middle School was a great site for the Lady Grizzlies eighth-grade night. The team won against St. Augustine, 38-12, as the night was unlike any other night full of emotion for the girls who have played together for three years. They are a team on and off of the court.

“It has been a pleasure to watch these young ladies grow through the years, develop their individual talent, and to work so hard as a team,” Coach Johnny Howie said.
The girls’ record stands at 15-7 regular season, 14-5 conference record, 19-12 overall record including three tournaments against some of the top middle schools in the state. The last regular season game was last Wednesday night, with an exciting come from behind win against Shelby West 27-25. The eighth-grade team consists of seven eighth-graders and two seventh-graders.
The first round of the tournament for the seventh-grade is Monday, with Tuesday being the first round for the eighth-grade team. They are coached by Johnny Howie, Kala Marshall, Stephanie Simpson and Tracy Lambdin.
