The Spencer County Extension Service is offering a sewing boot camp this fall. The camp is a four-week course that requires basic sewing skills.
The course will be Oct. 10, 17, 24 and 31 and is limited to sewers 18 years and older. The course project includes making an inverted pleat skirt with a two-inch wide exposed elastic waistband.
Patti Davis and Pat Douglas will be teaching the course.
The first course will be devoted to custom measuring and the drafting of the sewer’s custom pattern for the project. Sewers will be able to make the skirt in the length of their choice. Fabric purchases will be determined by the sewer’s custom plans.
The cost is $50 per person and the class is limited to eight persons. Lunch, elastic and pattern making supplies will be provided. All other sewing supplies will need to be brought to class.
