State Auditor Crit Luallen found no instances of noncompliance in an audit of the 2009 financial statement of the sheriff’s office.
“The sheriff’s financial statement presents fairly the revenues, expenditures, and excess fees of the Spencer County Sheriff in conformity with the regulatory basis of accounting,” stated a press release from Luallen’s office.
The report also stated that no significant problems involving internal control over financial reporting or in the operation were cited.
