Simpson benefit nets thousands

The recent benefit in honor of Michael Simpson was a huge success, according to his wife, Shirley. Thanks to all the people who patroned a fish fry at First Assembly of God and to all the donations, Simpson has been given about $10,000 toward getting a lung transplant. Doctors had told Simpson that in order to be placed on the list, he would have to prove he could pay for the costly anti-rejection medicines. “Now, we need prayer more than anything,” said Shirley Simpson.
