Spencer Christian Church is announcing the addition of a new Saturday worship service beginning Jan. 7 at 5:30 p.m.
According to a news release, church leaders have been praying and discussing the need for an alternate time of worship for those who are unable to make a Sunday morning service.
Associate Minister, Ivan Spencer said, “We are so in love with Jesus that we want to offer solutions and remove barriers that hinder people from experiencing God and loving Jesus.”
In determining an alternate time, the leadership recognized that there are many churches in the area which already have a Sunday evening service, but not many that have a Saturday service.
Spencer Christian Church’s Saturday evening service will be identical to its two Sunday morning services and will include a nursery, as well as children’s programming through fifth grade.  Teenagers will be encouraged to worship with their attending families on Saturday evening.
In addition to providing an opportunity for more individuals to worship God, the release stated that the new service will help to alleviate space issues caused by the church’s recent growth.  Church members also hope that the new service will help to reach more people for Christ.
When asked about the new Saturday service, Lead Minister, Doug Martin said, “Most of all, it’s our desire to reach more people with the gospel message.”
If anyone would like additional information about the Saturday service or desire more information on the church, please call the church office at 502-477-9617 or visit www.spencerchristian.org.
Spencer Christian Church is located at 5720 Taylorsville Road.
