Eighteen chapters competed in regional competition on March 11 at Gallatin County High School in leadership events such as speaking, talent, and parliamentary procedure. Members who placed 1st or 2nd will move on to the state competition in June.
The Junior and Senior Parliamentary Procedure teams both took top honors and will advance to the state competition.
Winning speaking competition and advancing were: Kevin Herndon, Extemporaneous Public Speaking, Alex Poole, Dairy Impromptu; Lauren Brown, Horse Impromptu; Shelby Tyler Smith, Goat Impromptu; Joseph Snider, Greenhouse Impromptu; Amanda Martin, Nursery Impromptu; Madison Shanks, Small Animal Impromptu, Danielle Montgomery, Swine Impromptu, Austin Jaggers, Turf Impromptu, and Ashley Durrett, Creed Speaking.
Placing second and advancing were Jacob Walker, Beef Impromptu; Kayla Barmore, Floral Impromptu, Courtney Cox, Fruit and Vegetable Impromptu and Emily Hume, Sheep Impromptu.
Allen Oder placed second in the talent competition, Justin Goodlett was Superior 3rd in Poultry Impromptu, Allison McGaughey was Superior in Public Speaking, and Casey Kerns placed Superior in Crop Impromptu.
