Softball tourney to benefit boys’ basketball team
An inaugural one-pitch softball homecoming tournament to benefit the Spencer County High School boys’ basketball team is planned for Saturday at 9 a.m. at Waterford Park.
The entry fee is $150 per team, and teams are guaranteed four games.
A cornhole tournament will take place at the park throughout the day, the event will feature a homerun derby and concessions will be available.

Cornerstone Christian to host basketball league
Cornerstone Christian Academy will have an eight-week Saturday basketball league beginning on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013.
The games will be from noon to 5 p.m. at Cornerstone Christian Academy located at 3850 Frankfort Road in Shelbyville. The ages are first through sixth grade boys and girls.
Girls ages third grade and up will be on girls-only teams.
The early registration cost of the league is $60 if paid and registered by Nov. 16. Registration after this date is $70. The last day to register is Dec. 1. League forms can be mailed if requested. Practices will be on Monday and Thursday nights at Cornerstone Christian Academy. Evaluations will be on Monday, Nov. 26, and Thursday, Nov. 29, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
