Girls golf record 6-0
The girls won another match against Washington County yesterday to improve their record to 6-0 to remain undefeated. The low score goes to Kaelin Russell and Whitney Lyons.
Cross country back on the trail
Spencer County Cross Country was back in action Aug. 30 at the Saint Xavier Tiger Run.
Three middle school runners participated and began the season representing their school quite well. Seventh grader Charliann Garcia placed 2nd in the 1.8 mile run with a time of 11:10, while teammate and first-time runner, Adrian Gregory finished in 80th place in 13:08.
Another first-time runner, Travis O’Dell represented the middle school boys well, placing 68th with a time of 11:54. A total of 298 boys and 253 girls ran in the middle school division of the meet, which is one of the largest in the state.
The coaches said that with such solid performances so early in the season, the rest of the season looks promising. The varsity and JV teams will begin their season on Sept. 6 at the Shelby County Invitational.
