It was definitely football weather when the Mighty Mites (ages 5-7) took to the field on a cool morning Saturday.
The Stallions got off to an unusually slow defensive start allowing Lyndon to score early in the first quarter. But it was all Spencer County from there.

Wade Hutt fired up the offense with a 50-yard touchdown run followed quickly by another 40-yard touchdown run, all in the first half. The strong Stallions defense led by Austin Roberts took control of the field in the second half keeping the Lightning scoreless in the half.
The offensive line pushed Lyndon back to allow Wade Hutt to score his third touchdown of the day finishing up the game with a score of 19-7 Stallions.
The Juniors (ages 8-10) would come into the day’s game defending their undefeated season.
The day looked promising as Noah Stone snatched an interception early and took it in for a touchdown. From there, the Lightning would catch the Stallions offense by surprise keeping them scoreless for three quarters.
After a battle of field position, the Stallions offense would finally score in the fourth quarter with a hard hitting Colin Bradham touchdown. Final score 12-0 Stallions.
Both senior division (ages 11-13) teams came into the day winless. Both teams appeared hungry as the hard hits started early. The Stallions put points on the board in the second half with a long run by Trevor Hutt for a score and a Spencer Carruthers run for an extra point. But, Carruthers wasn’t done yet, his hard hitting running style would take him to the end zone, giving Carruthers a touchdown as well as scoring two extra points.
