Strong showing in state 4-H dairy judging

Spencer County had a very strong showing at the State 4-H Dairy Judging Contest June 29  in Lexington.

Representing Spencer County in the Senior Division were several award winners.

In the Jersey Category: 1st – Stetson Baird, 2nd – Jake Walker, 3rd – Joseph Snider, 8th – Tevin Shouse, and 9th– Susan Mann.  The 1st Place Jersey Senior Team was Spencer County’s Jake Walker, Stetson Baird, and Joseph Snider.

In the Holstein Category: 1st – Lauren Brown, 2nd – Dakota Husband, 3rd – Alison McGaughey, 4th – Stetson Baird, 5th – Jake Walker, 6th – Joseph Snider, 7th – Rachel Keys, 9th – Tevin Shouse, and 10th – Austin Jaggers.  The 1st Place Holstein Senior Team was Spencer County’s Jake Walker, Stetson Baird, and Joseph Snider.

The top 10 Individual Reasons Category from Spencer County was: 1st – Jake Walker, 2nd – Stetson Baird, 3rd – Joseph Snider, 4th – Alison McGaughey, 5th – Dakota Husband, 6th – Lauren Brown, 7th Austin Jaggers, and 9th – Susan Mann. The 1st Place Reasons Senior Team was Spencer County’s Jake Walker, Stetson Baird, and Joseph Snider.

Members of the Senior Team placing in the Top 20 Overall were:  1st – Stetson Baird, 2nd – Jake Walker, 3rd – Joseph Snider, 4th – Lauren Brown, 5th – Alison McGaughey, 6th – Dakota Husband, 8th – Tevin Shouse, 9th – Rachel Keys, 11th – Austin Jaggers, and 18th– Susan Mann.  The 1st Place Overall Senior Team was Spencer County’s Jake Walker, Stetson Baird, and Joseph Snider.

Jackson Baird and Kelly Baird walked through the contest as Cloverbuds, and will be among those representing the future of Spencer County 4-H.
