Students to present fall production ‘The Outsiders’ at SCMS this weekend

Spencer County’s middle school and high school drama departments will present S.E. Hinton’s “The Outsiders” this weekend as their fall production.
The show is directed by Spencer County High School senior Ben Hesse and produced by Spencer County Middle School Drama Director Shelby Steege.
“The Outsiders” is about two weeks in the life of a 14-year-old boy. The play tells the story of Ponyboy Curtis and his struggles with right and wrong in a society in which he believes that he is an outsider, according to promotional material for the production.
Performances are scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
All shows are performed at Spencer County Middle School, located at 1263 Mount Washington Road in Taylorsville.
Ticket prices are $2 for students and $4 for adults. The show is recommended for ages fifth-grade and up.
