At the Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Spencer County Agency, you can count on a friendly, local face waiting to meet you one-on-one to answer your questions and meet your insurance needs.

Agency manager Terry Skaggs and Agent Earl Browning, together, offer decades of combined service and expertise in insurance sales and service. The local KFB office at 695 Taylorsville Road sits in the heart of Taylorsville next to Dairy Queen and is not just known for its diverse insurance offerings, but also for its community service. Customer Service Representatives Stephanie Truax and Amanda Arnold greet customers in the front of the office as they come in the door.

Terry Skaggs, who has been with the Farm Bureau insurance company for more than 29 years, said his personal philosophy as agency manager is the same as the Farm Bureau motto — “Big on Commitment.”

“I love my job,” Skaggs said. “My father was with Farm Bureau Insurance before he passed away and I was brought up in the business. There’s not a better company to work for.”

This agency offers lines of automobile, home, farm, mobile home, dwelling fire, boat, commercial and life insurance, as well as annuities. KFB offers 24-hour claim service via telephone and online. Skaggs said each of his customers is more than just a business acquaintance. For those looking for help navigating the insurance landscape, Skaggs and Browning are there to patiently answer any questions customers have.

“The Kentucky Farm Bureau is the largest writer of property and casualty insurance based in the state of Kentucky,” Skaggs said. “And you can come in to our office and talk to us face to face.”

While Skaggs appreciates his job as a KFB agency manager, he also loves the commitment to community involvement that his organization brings to Spencer County. The local KFB Board is involved in the local school system, offering scholarships to high school seniors and college students, supporting the Spencer County FFA program, sponsoring the Young Farmers program, and more. The company also stays engaged and aware of the political landscape and is a strong voice for local farmers.

“The list of community involvement goes on and on,” Skaggs said.

Although the agency offers a comprehensive line of reliable and affordable insurance, they also offer so much more.

Spencer County’s Farm Bureau Agency is committed to serving their customers in all facets of their lives. “Here, we build a relationship with you,” Skaggs said.
