Recently the Taylorsville Elementary School Chorus under the direction of music teacher, Erin Kelley, competed in the Music in the Parks Competition at Kings Island.

The chorus has competed in this event for the past three years, and for the first time, received the highest rating of superior.  Kelly said the talented group of third, fourth and fifth graders meet after school only once a week and had the highest overall score out of 15 other middle/high school bands and choirs competing that same day.  To top it off, the group, for the third year in a row, won the prestigious “Espirit de Corps” award which is given to the group with the best manners, behavior, and sportsmanship throughout the entire day.  Kelly said the students did a fantastic job representing the school and Spencer County.
“Our entire community has a lot to be proud of in these young musicians,” Kelly said.
