Morgan Thompson is not a kid anymore – she’s a senior at Spencer County High School – but she has not outgrown her love of showing dairy cattle, in fact, she’s just picking up speed.

Morgan, 18, who has been showing in Shelby County 4-H events for years, took grand champion of the junior show and grand champion of the open show at the North American International Livestock Exposition held in Louisville Nov. 10.
The event bills itself as the largest purebred livestock competition in the world, something that Morgan’s grandparents, Lise and Glenn Sageser, said is a tribute to her dedication.
“This certainly has been the perfect final touch to her senior year,” Lise Sageser said.
Thompson’s other accomplishments this year include winning grand champion at the 2013 World Dairy Exposition in Madison, Wis., as well as taking numerous ribbons at the Kentucky State Fair in Louisville this summer, including senior champion and grand champion female with her 4-year-old dairy cow, Clay Penny.
