Some knew him as Sticker Joe, others as Kroger Joe, and while Elmer “Joe” Sander lived what many may call an ordinary life – this average Joe was an exceptional man, said friends and family.
“It’s still hard to believe he’s gone,” said Bob Perry. The two Elk Creek men had been friends for 18 years, ever since Joe and his wife, Martha, moved in a few doors down from Perry’s home on Plum Creek Road.
“He always had a pleasant smile,” said Perry. “He made you feel good.”
