Kentucky counties are being urged to apply for up to $3,000 each in waste tire removal and recycling grants. The money is available through the Department for Environmental Protection’s Division of Waste Management Waste Tire Trust Fund.
“Eligible expenses under this grant are the actual costs that the county incurs during the grant period for disposal or recycling of waste tires,” said Chris Fitzpatrick, manager of the Recycling and Local Assistance Branch within DWM. “Other expenses, such as labor and equipment costs, are not eligible.”
