City and county customers of Taylorsville Water Works can expect to see their bills go up next month.
Monday, the City of Taylorsville approved on second reading an ordinance to raise water rates for all customers by 3.5 percent.
The ordinance passed 4-1 with Mayor Don Pay, commissioners Larry Waldridge, Kathy Spears and Beverly Ingram voting yes and Commissioner Nathan Nation voting no.
Approving the ordinance was merely a formality because the commission approved its 2012-13 budget, which included the 3.5 percent water rate increase, earlier this month.
