Historical Society
to meet
The Spencer County Historical and Genealogical Society will meet Monday, June 23, 7 p.m., at the Spencer County Public Library. Anyone interested in learning more about the Felix Grundy Stidger log home in Taylorsville are welcome to attend.

Library hosting Mad Science, Darshwood the Conjurer
The Spencer County Public Library is hosting Mad Science June 17 at 10:30 a.m. Teen night will feature Darshwood the Conjurer the same day at 6:30 p.m.

MPCAA to offer
arthritis exercise program
Multi-Purpose Community Action Agency is now offering an Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program at its senior center located at 44 Creekside Drive in Taylorsville. This program is a low-impact physical activity program proven to reduce pain and decrease stiffness.
The routines include gentle range-of-motion exercises that are suitable for every fitness level. Program will be offered each Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 20 through August 7.

The program is free for any person 60 and older and small nominal fee for anyone under 60 of $2 per 1 hour class.

Motorcycle road skills testing to resume
Motorcycle road skills testing will resume this month. The location for the testing is Waterford Park on Highway 44 five miles west of Taylorsville. If on the day of testing you are unsure about the testing due to weather conditions, the examiner will have made a decision by 9:30 a.m. You may call the Circuit Clerk’s office at 502-477-3220 to find out his decision. There will be no make up days for inclement weather.
Be prepared to spend at least 15 minutes for the actual skills test and allow an hour for the entire process. Before the test is given, Kentucky state law requires you to have a helmet, current proof of insurance, and that your motorcycle equipment is working properly. There are no exceptions.
Motorcycle road test dates and times are as follows:
Friday, June 27, 9 – 11 a.m.
Thursday, Aug. 28, 2 – 3:30 p.m.

5K Race Series comes to Taylorsville
The 10th Annual Kentucky State Parks 5k Race Series will be holding an event at Taylorsville Lake State Park June 14 at 8 a.m. All ages and skill levels welcome including pets. Chamber of
Commerce to host Wine and Canvas event
Spencer County-Taylorsville Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Wine and Canvas event Saturday, June 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. at 19 E. Main St. The price is $35 per seat, no prior painting skills are required. For tickets or additional information contact Chamber President Jan Kehne at 376-6572.

Spencer County Democrats meet June 16
