Sign ups for Spencer County Stallions Football
Sign ups for the Spencer County Stallions Youth Football Association will be Saturday at the Ray Jewell Park baseball fields from 10 a.m. til 2 p.m.
Teams practice three days a week and games are on Saturdays.
Spencer County Stallions are also in need of a cheer coordinator. If you may be interested in the position please contact us on the Spencer County Stallions Facebook page.

Mud bog at fairground set for Saturday
The Spencer County Fair Board is hosting a mud bog at the fairgrounds on Saturday at 5 p.m.

Fishing derby set for Saturday
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife will host its annual kids fishing derby on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Taylorsville Lake tail-waters.
The free fishing event is open to youth up to age 15. Participants should bring a fishing pole, but bait will be provided.
Lunch will also be provided after the event, as well as door prizes and trophies.

5K at Taylorsville Lake State Park
Taylorsville Lake State Park will host the Possum Ridge 5K and fun walk on Saturday at 8 a.m.
The race/walk is park of the Kentucky State Parks 5K Race Series.
The pre-registration fee to run is $20 and to walk is $15.

Board of Elections to meet June 13
The Spencer County Board of Elections will meet Thursday, June 13, at 3 p.m. in the County Clerk’s Office for its monthly meeting. Note that this is a change from the usual third Thursday of the month meeting schedule.

Spencer County Relay for Life will be June 14 and 15 at Spencer County High School.

Free sports physicals
Free sports physicals will be provided to middle and high school students by the Spencer County Physical Therapy staff and Dr. Thomas Crain.
Physicals will be June 15 beginning at 9 a.m. at Spencer County Physical Therapy.

MPCAA election on June 18
The Multi-Purpose Community Action Agency will host a public election on June 18 for low-income board representatives in Spencer County. Voting will be held at the local senior center between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  Anyone 18 years of age or older and living within the county is eligible to vote.

Habitat for Humanity announces golf scramble
Spencer County Habitat for Humanity is hosting its eighth annual golf scramble on June 22 at Tanglewood Golf Course.
Registration starts at 7 a.m. with shotgun start at 8.
The event features door prizes and a catered lunch.
All proceeds benefit the local Habitat chapter.

Adult Ed offers college, GED prep
