The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced that KY 3228 (Old Briar Ridge Road) could experience lane closures and delays possible between mile points 0.65 and 2.3 due to roadway milling and resurfacing. Lane closures are possible weekdays from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Country ham breakfast
Taylorsville Masonic Lodge #210 will be having an all-you-can-eat country ham breakfast from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday. The breakfast is $6 per person. Carry-out is available. Everyone is welcome.
The June meeting of the Spencer County Republican Party will be Monday at On the Way Cafe. Dinner off the menu at 6 p.m. followed by the business meeting.

Steve Miller, field representative for Congressman Brett Guthrie, will hold office hours in Spencer County on Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Judge Executive’s Office at 12 West Main Street in Taylorsville, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.
Individuals from the area are encouraged to meet with Miller, who will be available to answer any questions and address concerns regarding current issues or problems with federal agencies. He will forward all comments to the congressman.

The Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 11426 will be hosting a Bunko Night June 11 beginning at 7 p.m. Seating is limited. To reserve a spot, contact Etta Hahn at 477-2330 or Joyce Waterfill at 477-8103. City laws on
The City of Taylorsville would like to remind candidates that all political signs in the city limits must be removed 10 days after the primary election. Signs should not be displayed again until 30 days prior to the general election. This will be strictly enforced.
There’s a new Cub Scout Pack forming in Spencer County and any boy in grades kindergarten through fourth is encouraged to join. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be at the Spencer County Library June 8 at 10:30 a.m. The Corps has a dynamic youth education program for water and recreation safety. Each region has their own interpretive programming and the topics will relate to our home region.
CPR, first aid
The Bullitt/Spencer counties American Red Cross will hold the following safety classes:
• Adult CPR with AED, June 7, 6 p.m.- 10 p.m.
• Child/infant CPR, June 8, 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.
• First aid, June 10, 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.
• CPR recertification, June 28, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Red Cross will recertify a student up to one year past their expiration date.
