Blood drive Tuesday

The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive Tuesday, March 2 from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. The event will be held in the fellowship hall at First Baptist Church, located at 115 W. Main St. in Taylorsville.

Bullitt County Women’s Club style show

Tickets are now available for the 39th annual Irene Carroll Scholarship Luncheon and Style Show sponsored by the Bullitt County Women’s Club. The event will be held at the Paroquet Springs Conference Centre in Shepherdsville March 20 from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The style show will feature the fashions of Sunny Daize and Honey Beez. Tickets are $25 and purchasing information can be found at 502-538-7410 or 502-538-6623. Shares will be sold for a Derby print, two Derby Clubhouse level tickets, dinner for two and a quilt. Door prizes will also be awarded.

GOP meeting

The next meeting of the Spencer County GOP will be on Monday at On the Way Cafe. 4-H Sewing group

Calling all students interested in learning more about sewing. 4-H will be holding sewing classes on the following dates:  February 24, March 3, March 10th, March 17 and March 24 at the Spencer County Extension office.  Classes for all dates will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. This is open for anyone between the ages of 9-18.  Please contact Nicole at 477-2217 to register. 

Shooting sports

The Spencer County 4-H Shooting Sports program is having a membership drive meeting Tuesday, March 9 at the Extension office at 6:30 p.m.  Anyone interested in Shooting Sports, specifically shotgun, archery, rifle, should come out and sign up.  No experience is necessary to join.

Certified coaches will be on hand to help you along with the different areas of interest. There is no cost to become a member of shooting sports.

Members participate in state and local tournaments.  Students ages 9 - 18 are allowed to compete. Age 8 and below are allowed to participate in our club shoots.

Fish fry

The Knights of Columbus Lenten fish fry is this Friday and will continue every Friday for the next five weeks at All Saints Catholic Church located at 410 Main Cross.  Serving times are 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Please join us for great seafood and live music from local entertainers.
