Country Ham Breakfast

Taylorsville Masonic Lodge #210 will be having an all-you-can-eat country ham breakfast from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m.  Saturday. The breakfast is $6 per person. Carry-out is available. Everyone is welcome.

Lions Club meeting

The Spencer County Lions Club  will be meeting Monday at Elk Creek Restaurant and Grocery at 7 p.m.

VFW Ladies Auxiliary chili supper

The VFW Ladies Auxiliary will be having a chili supper from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at the VFW Post. For more information please call Frankie Bramer at 502-477-6441. The VFW Post is located at 106 Washington St.

Habitat board meeting

All are welcome! Spencer County Habitat for Humanity Board meeting will be held Monday at 6:30 p.m., 855 Taylorsville Road (behind CUB Bank). If you’re interested in helping with Habitat, or just want to learn more about the organization, please join us. Blood drive

Taylorsville Baptist Church will be hosting a blood drive Tuesday from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

The American Red Cross reminds donors to eat iron-rich foods and drink plenty of water.

CPR/First Aid Training

The Bullitt/Spencer Counties American Red Cross will be having CPR/First Aid Training classes November 9-12.  You must be pre-registered and pre-paid to attend. Call the Bullitt/Spencer Counties American Red Cross office at 502-955-6259 to register of if you have any questions.

Holiday workshop at Extension Office

The 8th annual Holiday Workshop will be held  from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the county extension office located at 66 Spears Drive. Registration will  begin at 5:30 p.m. Registration will be on a first come basis and is limited to the first 75 people. The cost will be $8 per person regardless of age. The Spencer County Homemakers will be providing the food and craft demonstrations this year. To pre-register contact the extension office at 477-2217 ASAP.

County Clerk’s offices closed for Veterans Day

The Spencer County Circuit Court office and the County Clerk’s offices will be closed November 11 in observance of Veterans Day. Their regular office hours will resume on Thursday November 12.

Taylorsville Post Office new hours

Beginning Thursday, November 12, the retail window at the Taylorsville Post Office, 800 Taylorsville Rd., will be open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturdays. 

Senior class chili supper

The senior class of 2010 will be hosting a chili supper November  13 at the high school. Chili will be served from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Cost is $7.00 and includes chili, hot dog, dessert & drink. Please support the senior class.

SCHS alumni wanted

Spencer County High School athletic alumni are needed to participate in the annual alumni basketball game hosted by the Athletic Dept. Not a ball player? Show your support for the SCHS senior class by attending the game. Cost only $2.

Main Street events

Celebrate the season of Christmas by helping to decorate Main Street November 21 at 8 a.m. Meet at the Tea Cup.

There will also be dozens of trees to be planted at the high school, fire house and along city streets. Bring your shovel if you want to plant trees or just show up if you can help decorate Main Street.  Call John if you have questions 502-773-5419.
