Knights Kafé pork chop dinner

The Knights Kafé will be having a pork chop dinner from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at All Saints Catholic Church. The menu will be grilled pork chops, potato casserole, green beans, corn on the cob, cucumber and tomato salad, hot homemade desserts, sweet and unsweet iced tea, lemonade or hot coffee.

Become a lifetime member of the Fair

JD Shelburne with special guest Billy Curtsinger will be performing Friday at the Spencer County Fairgrounds. Billy Curtsinger will perform at 8 p.m. and J.D. will perform at 8:25 p.m. Gate admission is $10 for ages 7 through adult; free for children age 6 and under. There is limited seating. This event is sponsored by the fair board and you may use your “Life Time Membership”card. If you do not have your card please contact a fair board member and one will be provided. You must present your card at the gate. The Spencer County Fair Board would like to invite you to be a “Fair Partner”. With any donation to the fair board you will be listed in the Fair Booklet as a sponsor of the JD Shelburne concert. A board will be displayed the night of the concert listing all sponsors as well as an acknowledgment during the concert. Please make your check payable to the Spencer County Fair Board with a notation of JD Shelburne Concert and mail to Spencer County Fair Board, PO Box 481, Taylorsville KY 40071-0481.

Soccer Association annual meeting

The Spencer County Soccer Association (SCSA) will be holding their annual meeting on Sunday at 4 p.m. at Ray Jewell Park above the concession stand. They will be holding elections at that time.

CASA Yard Sale

CASA of Shelby and Spencer Co. will be having a yard sale on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the front yard lawn of the CASA office, 822 Main St. in Shelbyville. If you have any items that you would like to donate to be sold in the yard sale, then just drop them off at their office. Try to call in advance if you are going to bring things so they know to be at the office when you come. All the proceeds will go directly to CASA of Shelby and Spencer counties. Also, if you would like to help at the yard sale just let them know.

Community blood drive

The American Red Cross will hold a community blood drive at Taylorsville First Baptist Church on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Fellowship hall. The church is located at 115 W. Main Street. Remember to eat iron-rich foods and drink plenty of water. Be a life saving hero and donate blood.

MPCAA conducts teen relationship classes

Multi-Purpose Community Action Agency, Inc. and Big Springs Assembly of God are partnering to provide a class for Teens on Communication Smarts For All Relationships. The classes will be held at Big Springs Assembly of God at 2345 Taylorsville Road, Bloomfield, KY 40008. The classes will begin on July 22 at 6 p.m. for the next 7 Wednesdays. Varsity soccer tryouts
