State right-of-way mowing
Contractors will be mowing the state right of way in Spencer County next week. Signs will be removed from the right of way and will be at the Spencer County maintenance barn for pick-up. Please call 502-477-2242 if you have any questions.
SCHS Girls Soccer practice

Spencer County Saddle Club Poker Run at Taylorsville Lake
The Spencer County Saddle Club would like to invite you to join them Saturday at Taylorsville Lake (rain date July 26) for a Poker Run. Signups start at noon at the day ride lot, with the ride starting at 1 p.m. Entry fee will be $5.00 per hand and everyone is welcome to come and join in the fun. MPCAA conducts teen relationship classes
Multi-Purpose Community Action Agency, Inc. and Big Springs Assembly of God are partnering to provide a class for Teens on Communication Smarts For All Relationships. The classes will be held at Big Springs Assembly of God at 2345 Taylorsville Road, Bloomfield. The classes will begin on today at 6 p.m. cand continue for the next seven Wednesdays. This is a contract between the Community Action Kentucky (CAK), Inc. and Multi-Purpose Community Action Agency, Inc. This project is funded, in part, under a contract with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services/Department for Community Based Services with funds from the Community Service Block Grant Act of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The July meeting of the Spencer County Historical and Genealogical Society will be Monday at 7 p.m. at the Spencer County Library. Those interested in learning more about Spencer County’s history and tracing their family trees are welcome to attend.

Center’s summer day camps
The Spencer County Youth Service Center is sponsoring summer day camps. Spaces are limited. Please contact the YSC to register 477-6934 x 2005.. There is a $10 registration fee but scholarships are available. Lunch will be provided for all participants.
• A Tuesday Thing – SCMS. Mrs. Robin Baxter, librarian. Special programs each week. July 28 Stamping/Advance Movie Maker, August 4 Beach Blanket Party. Open library from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Open to grades 6 – 12.
• Journalism Camp – Mrs. Ronda Cox, editor in chief. Call for dates/times at SCMS. Open to grades 6 – 12.
• Art Camp – Mrs. Martha Crenshaw, Creative Art Director. through July 24 from 9:30 a.m. – noon at SCMS. Open to grades 6 – 8.
• Tae Kwon Do – Mrs. Amanda Bruce, first don black belt, WTF. July 27 – 31 from 10 a.m. – noon at SCMS. Open to grades 6 – 12.
