Masonic Lodge Country Ham Breakfast

Taylorsville Masonic Lodge #210 will be having an all-you-can-eat country ham breakfast from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m.  Saturday. The breakfast is $6 per person. Carry-out is available. Everyone is welcome.

O.R.N.A.I.C. meal and meeting

The Ohio River Native American Intertribal Community (ORNAIC) will be having their monthly meeting on Sunday at the Spencer County Extension office on Spears Drive. They have a fellowship meal and socializing from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. and start their meeting at 4 p.m.  Everyone is welcome.

GOP meeting

The next meeting of the Spencer County GOP will be Monday, August 3 at On the Way Cafe. Arrive at 6 p.m. for dinner off the menu. The business meeting will begin at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Jim Weise, 2nd Congressional District Republican chairman. He will speak about candidate recruitment and the 2010 elections, as well as answer any questions you may have. Now is the time to get involved in the local party and to network and socialize with fellow Republicans. To report water outages

The Taylorsville Water Department requests that customers call 477-0434 to report water outages or to hear about known water breaks in their service district. Customers are asked to refrain from calling Spencer County Dispatch to ensure that phone lines are open for life-threatening emergencies.

Volunteers needed for parks field day

The first-ever Spencer County Parks Field Day is in need of volunteers to help with this free children’s event scheduled for August 8 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Volunteers will be needed to help with games, concessions and generally have fun playing with kids ages 15 and under. Memorial Golf Scramble

A golf scramble to benefit the Allen Dennis Scholarship Fund will be held August 8 at Tanglewood Golf Course in Taylorsville. Breakfast and lunch will be served followed by shotgun starts in the morning and afternoon. The fee will be $50 per player or $200 per team. You may sign up by mail by sending a check payable to the allen Dennis Scholarship Fund to John Shouse at 1273 Denney Drive, Lawrenceburg KY 40342.
