William E. 'Pappy' Cissell, 89

William E. “Pappy” Cissell, 89, of Mount Eden, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
Born in Spencer County, he was the son of the late George and Laura Kelien Cissell. He was also the widower of Mary Lee Cull Cissell.
Mr. Cissell was a farmer and later worked for the Kentucky Department of Transportation Highway Garage in Louisville for three years. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and enjoyed playing the guitar, gardening and riding his golf cart.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Stephen Allen Cissell and his sisters, Ruby Brooks and Margaret Bentley.
Survivors include his son, William A. “Billy” (Sharon)Cissell of Mount Eden; his granddaughters, Breanna L. Cissell of Georgetown and Melanie (Mike) Combs of Shelbyville; his great-granddaughter, Laura Combs of Louisville; his great-grandsons, Alex Combs of Shelbyville and Hunter S. Cissell of Louisville; his brother, Donald L. Cissell and  his sister, Jeanette Devers, both of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be today (Wednesday) at 10:30 a.m. at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home in Taylorsville, with the Rev. Tom Conway officiating. Interment will follow in Valley Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday at Hall-Taylor.
