IN THE WORD: Jesus paid it all to give us victory

At our Lay Witness Mission retreat his year, the theme song was “Victory In Jesus”. What a great song.

More than the song, just think, we have victory in Jesus over all the sins of this world.

Look at Romans 8:34-39 – “Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, no angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

1 John 5:4-5 – “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?”

As we look at our victory in Jesus, we know that he bought us with a price. That price was one we could in no way have paid ourselves.

No matter how good we are, or think we are, it is not good enough as the price that Jesus paid on the cross. As the song says, He sought us and He bought us with His redeeming blood. What a great price to pay for our sins.

He did not only do that, He went to heaven and prepared a mansion for us in a place so beautiful. We can not imagine how beautiful this place called heaven really is.

After all these accomplishments, He sits on the right hand of God, the Father. He intercedes for us as we pray to the Father. We pray through Him and ask for forgiveness for the sins we commit today.

1 Timothy 2:5 – “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”

Isn’t it great to have a way to reach God?

I learned one thing in writing about victory in Jesus, you could fill the entire paper writing about the victory we have in him. I ask readers to take an hour to meditate on the victories you have had in Jesus..
