From the Word: Jesus will see us through

-A A +A

In my ministry through the years, I have heard so many flimsy excuses about not telling people about Jesus Christ.

One of my cousins called me and said, “You know I cannot visit people and invite them to church because I’m afraid I will get a door slammed in my face.”

One said, “I just cannot tell people about Jesus because they would not want to hear it anyway.”

Another said, “I just don’t know what to say.”

One said, “Well, I would tell people about Jesus but they don’t want to hear that kind of stuff.”

One said, “What if they ask me a question and I don’t know the answer?”

Then one person told me, “You are used to that kind of stuff, you go ahead and I am behind you all the way.”

When we talk and ask questions like this, all we can say is the devil is having a field day with us.

I can assure every Christian, if you will step out in the faith of Jesus Christ no matter what you come upon, Jesus will help you through it.

And each day praise the Lord, we don’t have to go through what Paul did to be a witness for Jesus Christ.

Look at 2 Corinthians 11:24-31 Of the Jews, five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches. Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is offended, and I burn not? If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.  The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.

Isn’t it wonderful that Jesus chose a person like Paul to set an example for us?

We have to know, no matter what comes upon us, Jesus will see us through it.
