    The students pictured maintained exemplary behavior for the month of March. They are: Eli Thompson, A.J. Peterman, Ivan Lester, Morgan Owens, Jesse Johnson and Blair Shivers. They ate lunch with their counselor and received a Tiger Pride T-shirt.

  • Five Spencer Countians named to GSP

     

  • Help available for college planning

    Gene Weis is available to assist Spencer County schools, students, parents and groups that want help with college planning.
    He is available year-round to provide free higher education and financial aid assistance. Weis can lead students in career exploration activities, assist with the admissions application process, help students explore scholarship opportunities and other funding options, guide families through submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and increase motivation for at-risk students.

  • Several local Western Kentucky students named to dean's and president's list

    Several local students were recently named to the Western Kentucky University dean’s and president’s list.
    Students making the Dean’s List have a grade-point average of 3.4 to 3.79 in a 4.0 scale. Students on the President’s List have GPAs of 3.8 to 4.0 and are indicated by an asterisk.
    To be eligible for the either list, students must have at least 12 hours of coursework that semester.

  • Spencer County Schools releases draft calendar for 2014-15 school year

    The 2014-15 Spencer County Schools Calendar Committee has prepared a 2014-15 Draft Calendar. The school district asks that any comments be provided to to Diana Thomas via e-mail at Diana.Thomas@spencer.kyschools.us no later than Jan. 22.

  • CU announces fall 2013 honors

    Campbellsville University Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Frank Cheatham recently announced the academic honors list for the fall 2013 semester.
    The academic honors list recognizes students who achieve a grade point average of 3.50 or above for the semester with a course load of at least 12 hours. The fall 2013 academic honors list includes a total of 607 students, with 229 named to the president’s list for achieving a 4.0 grade point average, and 378 named to the dean’s list for achieving a 3.5 to 3.99 GPA.

  • Daugherty named to honors list at Graceland

    The honor roll lists for Graceland University’s 2013 Fall Term have been announced and Kenna Daugherty of Fisherville has been named to the honors list. Graceland commends Kenna and all students who have devoted their efforts and talents to their academic success, according to a news release.
    Students with a perfect 4.0 grade point average are named to the president’s list. Students with a GPA between 3.65 and 3.99 are named to the honors list. Students with a GPA between 3.25 and 3.64 are named to the dean’s list.

  • Knapper named to president’s list

    Gregory Knapper of Taylorsville was named to the president’s list in the Advantage program at Mid-Continent University. He is a member of the Louisville 19 Cohort.
    To achieve president’s list honors, students must maintain a 4.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale term.
