Interested in signing your child for Spencer County Middle School band?
According to SCMS band director Taylor Stampfer, studies show that band students have higher GPAs and ACT scores overall than other students. Studies also show that studying music increases reading and math scores as well as help create a well-rounded individual, Stampfer said.
Learning how to play an instrument is a skill that will last a lifetime, and joining band will give students an opportunity to perform, compete, and travel.
