Trail run proceeds to benefit elementary track, cross country

The third annual Mountain Goat Trail Run is planned for Saturday, June 4, at Taylorsville Lake State Park.
Registration and packet pick-up begins at 6 a.m., and the race starts at 7:30 a.m.
All proceeds will support the Spencer County Track and Cross Country Elementary Team.
All participants will receive a shirt.
The entry fee for the 5K trail run is $20. The entry fee for the one-mile fun run is $10.

Women’s empowerment course to benefit project graduation

The Spencer County High School 2011 Project Graduation committee is hosting a Women’s Empowerment Course fundraiser Saturday from 5 until 6:30 p.m.
The course, entitled “Invest in Yourself,” will teach students how to de-escalate a bad situation. Gracie Jiu Jitsu of Kentucky’s chief instructor, Scott Smith, will be conducting the self defense course.
The course will be at Spencer County High School for ages 13 and older.
Participants should wear a t-shirt, sweats and shorts.
