  • Two Spencer students make Center dean's list

    Two local students were named to the winter/spring dean’s list at Centre College, an honor reserved for students who maintain at least a 3.60 grade point average.

    Whitney Brown is the daughter of Arnold and Melissa Brown of Taylorsville and is a graduate of Spencer County High School.
    Amber Martin is the daughter of Kyle and Catherine Martin of Taylorsville and is a graduate of Spencer County High School.

  • Four graduate from McKendree

    Graduates of McKendree University’s Louisville and Radcliff campuses received their diplomas at commencement exercises June 11 at the Highview Baptist Church East Campus.

    The class of 2011 undergraduates were the first McKendree “University” freshmen when the 183-year-old institution changed its name from McKendree “College” in 2007.

    Sixty-eight of the 103 members of the class of 2011 from both Kentucky campuses participated in the ceremony.

  • Four local students make UK dean's list

    The following Spencer County students were named to the dean’s list at the University of Kentucky for the spring 2011 semester:
    Taylor Ann Carden, pre-journalism freshman; Sarah Elizabeth Jones, communications junior; Alex Eugenia Poole, undergraduate studies freshman; Christopher Joseph Shouse, history junior; and Chelsea Elizabeth Sleep, psychology junior.

    UK Public Relations provided the students’ names, majors and classes.

  • Snider, Karrer make Georgetown dean's list

    The following students have been named to the dean’s list at Georgetown College for the 2011 spring semester:
    Hannah Marie Snider of Mount Eden. Hannah is the daughter of Amos and Suzanne Snider of Mount Eden.

    Rachel Christine Karrer of Taylorsville. Rachel is the daughter of Bill and Karen Karrer of Taylorsville.

    The dean’s list honors undergraduate students who completed the semester with at least 12 credit hours and a 3.7 GPA, according to Dr. Rosemary Allen, provost/academic dean.
     

  • Four named to Bellarmine dean's list

    Bellarmine University recently named students to its dean’s list for the spring 2011 semester. The dean’s list recognizes students who receive a grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.

  • Schueman named to Campbellsville president’s list

    Bruce George Schueman, a junior from Mount Eden, was named to Campbellsville University’s president’s list for the spring 2011 semester, Dr. Frank Cheatham, vice president for academic affairs, announced in a news release.

  • Armstrong graduates from Daymar College

    Linda Armstrong, of Taylorsville, recently graduated from Daymar College with her associate’s degree in medical assistance. Armstrong earned a 4.0 grade point average over the two-year enrollment period.
    Armstrong is the wife of Eddie Armstrong, and the mother of Lindsey and Jacob Armstrong.

  • Edwards named to Campbellsville dean’s list

    Jonathan Craig Edwards, a senior from Mount Eden, was named to Campbellsville University’s dean’s list for the spring 2011 semester, Dr. Frank Cheatham, vice president for academic affairs, announced in a news release.
