  • Saltsman, Fields to wed June 22

    Julie Hayden of Bardstown and Christopher Fields and Michelle Wright of Taylorsville wish to announce the engagement of their parents, Carolyn Saltsman and Larry Fields, both of Hodgenville.
    The couple will be married June 22, 2013 with an outdoor ceremony at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Kerfoot, Hodgenville.
    Carolyn is a semi-retired registered nurse with Intrepid Home Health and a tour director with Shockey Tours in Louisville.
    Larry is a tour bus driver with Shockey Tours, an ordained general Baptist minister and a retired home builder.

  • Wente, Hillard to wed Saturday

    Marissa Wente of Taylorsville and Samuel Hillard of Frankfort announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage on June 15, 2013.
    The bride-to-be is a daughter of Deborah Powell Wente and Stephen Wente of Taylorsville.
    The groom-to-be is a son of Andi and David Hillard of Frankfort.
    The wedding will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Hillard residence, 870 Stillhouse Hollow Road, on Elkhorn Creek in Frankfort.

  • Williams, Burden to wed Saturday

    Kris Williams and Erica Burden announce their wedding, set for Saturday, June 15, at 5 p.m. at the Possum Ridge Boat Dock Shelter No. 1.
    Williams parents are Patsy and Glenn Williams.
    Burden’s parents are Jesse and Norma Burden.
    All relatives and friends are invited to attend. A reception will immediately follow the ceremony.

  • ANNIVERSARY: Burkheads to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

    Roy and Lucille Burkhead will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 1, with friends and family in Richmond. The celebration will be  at 5 p.m. at Abundant Life Ministries Church, 1709 Irvine Road. The event is hosted by their children and grandchildren.
    The couple requests no gifts.

    Eric and Emily Moore of Taylorsville welcomed their second child, Wyatt Timothy Moore, on March 10, 2013, at Norton Suburban Hospital.

  • BIRTH: Bilger family welcomes Lucas Wayne

    Gary and Mallory Bilger of Mount Washington welcomed their third child, Lucas Wayne Bilger, into the world March 15 at 11:01 a.m. at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. He weighed 8 pounds, 14 ounces and was 21.5 inches long.
    Lucas was welcomed by his two siblings, Margaret “Maggie” Bilger, 4, and Noah Bilger, 3. He is the grandson of Dennis and Judy Bowman of Taylorsville and Ronald and Julia Bilger of Louisville.

  • BIRTH: Sanders family welcomes baby Zachary

    Chris and Ashley Sanders of Taylorsville announce the birth of their son, Zachary Chase Sanders, on April 4, 2013, at 7:29 a.m. He weighed 6 pounds, 2 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long.
    He was welcomed home by his siblings, Brianna and Cameron Sanders.
    His grandparents are Martin and Teresa Bruce of Waddy, David and Janice Cox of Shelbyville, Chris Sanders Sr. of Cincinnati, and Donna and Wilson Cox of Slade City.

  • BIRTH: Zahdyn Thomas born Jan. 29

    Roy and Toni Bell announce the birth of their grandson, Zahdyn Thomas Bell, on Jan. 29, 2013.
    He weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    He is the son of Morgan Armstrong and Thomas Bell Jr.
    He is the nephew of Daniel and Makalla Bell of Taylorsville, Corey Jr., Courtney and Jasmine Bethal, and Brandon Bell of Louisville.
    He is the grandson of Tiffany and Corey Bethal Sr. of Louisville and the late Thomas Bell Jr.

  • ANNIVERSARY: 49 years and counting (Keelings)

    Evan and Donna Keeling recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary at their home in the Little Union area.

    They were married in Livingston, Tenn., on March 7, 1964.
    They have three children: Timothy Keeling and his wife, Nina; Amy Mattingly and her husband, Charlie; and Stephen Keeling and his wife, Stacy. They also have 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
    They are members of Little Union Baptist Church.
