  • BIRTH: Maci Ann born July 7

    Dollie Heady and Justin Curtsinger of Taylorsville announce the birth of their daughter, Maci Ann Curtsinger, on July 7 at Baptist Hospital East/Kosair NICU. She weighed 8 pounds, 4.8 ounces and was 20 inches long. She was welcomed home by a brother, Andrew Curtsinger, 3, and a sister, Gaberialla Heady, 1. Her maternal grandparents are Paula Heady and Wayne Heady of Mount Eden. Her paternal grandparents are Jesse and Amanda Curtsinger and the late Rebecca Fair of Taylorsville. Her great-grandparents are Dollie and Haskell Bentley, Anna May, and James Leon Curtsinger.

  • BIRTH: Horn family welcomes baby Logan

    Heather and Greg Horn of Richmond announce the birth of their son, Logan Taylor Horn, on June 8 at Saint Joseph East Women’s Center. He weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces and was 20 1/4 inches long.
    His maternal grandparents are Brett and Dorothy Beaverson of Taylorsville. His paternal grandparents are Dale and the late Dee Dee Horn of Shelbyville.

  • BIRTH: Keri Ann born May 18

    Edward and Kim Stump announce the birth of their daughter, Keri Ann Stump, on May 18 at Norton Suburban Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. She was welcomed home by two sisters, Jordan and Emily, and two brothers, Brandon and Eric.
    Her grandparents are James and Anna Stump of Taylorsville and Deborah Buster of Shepherdsville.

  • Wedding: Beaudry, Ware to wed

    Jamie Beaudry and Aaron Ware, of Mount Eden, are pleased to announce their upcoming wedding on July 16, 2011.  The ceremony will be held at Briar Ridge Christian Church.  Beaudry is the granddaughter of Terrence and Edith Ahearn, of Mount Eden, and Ware is the son of Dean and Lisa Ware, of Mount Eden.  The bride is currently studying at Eastern Kentucky University and the groom is an EKU graduate. All friends and relatives are invited. Formal invitations have been sent.

  • Bentley completes training

    Law enforcement officers from 17 agencies across the state graduated Friday from basic training at the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training.

  • Miller graduates from Basic Combat Training

    Army Reserve Spec. Phillip T. Miller has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.
    During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics.

  • Taylorsville man meets soap star

    Marty Allan Harp recently returned from vacationing in Los Angeles. While there he went to the annual Days of Our Lives fanfare weekend. He is pictured here with Suzanne Rogers who plays Maggie Horton on Days of our Lives. She’s been on the show since 1974. Marty has been a fan of the show since then, and has attended the event since 1986 and has met most of the cast members.

  • Benningfield, Thompson to wed Saturday

    Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Benningfield, of Taylorsville, announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Maria Anka Dawn Benningfield, to Erin L. Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Thompson, also of Taylorsville.

  • Ross, Lancaster to wed July 1

    Brittany Nicole Ross of Louisville and Jacob Michael Lancaster of Louisville announce their engagement and upcoming marriage at noon on July 1 at the Spencer County Courthouse.

    The bride-to-be is a daughter of Terry and Tammy Ross of Taylorsville.
    She is a 2009 graduate of Spencer County High School.
    The groom-to-be is a son of Mike Lancaster of Louisville and Dottie Lancaster of Cecilia.
    He is a 2001 graduate of Carroll County High School.

  • Griggs, Greer wed June 1

    Michelle Griggs and Timothy Greer, both of Taylorsville, were married June 1.

    The bride is a daughter of the late Donald Johns.
    The groom is a son of Patricia VanMeter of Taylorsville.
    The couple plans to reside in Versailles.
