    Jack Shannon and Jamie Marion announce the birth of their son, Harrison James Marion on Sept. 26, 2012. He weighed 9 pounds, 5 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long.     James Albert and Jennifer Brown of Taylorsville announce the birth of their son, Cooper James Albert, on Oct. 17, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East. Born at 4:33 a.m., he weighed 7 pounds, 10.9 ounces and was 20 inches long. He was welcomed home by his big brother, Anthony Albert, 6. His maternal grandparents are Arnold and Melissa Brown of Taylorsville. His paternal grandparents are Denis and Connie Albert of Taylorsville.

  • ANNIVERSARY: Celebrating 50 years

    Pastor Joseph and Betty Chesser Vires will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 11, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at New Hope Tabernacle Church. They are the parents of Scott Vires of Mount Washington, Trevor Vires and Chris Vires, both of Taylorsville.  Mrs. Vires has retired from General Electric Company and works for the Spencer County school system. Mr. Vires is the pastor of New Hope Tabernacle Church, which is located at 722 Townhill Road in Taylorsville. All friends and family are invited.
