  • BIRTH: Harrison James born Sept. 26

    Jack Shannon and Jamie Marion announce the birth of their son, Harrison James Marion on Sept. 26, 2012. He weighed 9 pounds, 5 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. He was welcomed home by his brother, Alex Marion, 2. His grandparents are John and Diana Bridwell and John and Colleen Cook. His great-grandparents are Catherine Murphy, Lalika Cook and the late Mary and Herman Stevens.

  • BIRTH: Baby Albert born Oct. 17

    James Albert and Jennifer Brown of Taylorsville announce the birth of their son, Cooper James Albert, on Oct. 17, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East. Born at 4:33 a.m., he weighed 7 pounds, 10.9 ounces and was 20 inches long. He was welcomed home by his big brother, Anthony Albert, 6. His maternal grandparents are Arnold and Melissa Brown of Taylorsville. His paternal grandparents are Denis and Connie Albert of Taylorsville.

  • ANNIVERSARY: Celebrating 50 years

    Pastor Joseph and Betty Chesser Vires will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 11, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at New Hope Tabernacle Church. They are the parents of Scott Vires of Mount Washington, Trevor Vires and Chris Vires, both of Taylorsville.  Mrs. Vires has retired from General Electric Company and works for the Spencer County school system. Mr. Vires is the pastor of New Hope Tabernacle Church, which is located at 722 Townhill Road in Taylorsville. All friends and family are invited.

  • ENGAGEMENT: Mathews, Hilbert to wed Dec. 1

    Kelli Mathews and Jason Hilbert announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage on Dec. 1.
    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Michael Mathews and Rebecca Jewell. The groom-to-be is employed with Metro Restoration in Louisville and is the son of Gayle and Rosie Hilbert. They all reside in Taylorsville. Formal invitations will be sent.

  • WEDDING: Shepherd, Green wed. Sept. 25

    Carla Shepherd and Bradley Green of Taylorsville were married Sept. 25, 2012, by a justice of the peace. The bride is a daughter of Carl Shepherd and Dee Metz. The groom is a son of Charles Ernest Green and Patricia Green. The groom is employed at American Roofing Contractors. The couple will reside in Taylorsville.

  • ENGAGEMENT: Wimsatt, Cheshire plan December wedding

    Jennifer Lynn Wimsatt and William Chad Cheshire, both of Grayson County and formerly of Taylorsville, announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

    The bride is a daughter of Bonnie and Buddy Hill of Taylorsville and Thomas Wimsatt of Bloomfield.
    The groom is a son of Teresa and William Gregory Cheshire of Taylorsville.
    A wedding is planned for Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Grace Chapel Church of God of Prophecy. Invitations will be sent.

    Nicholas and Christi Davis of Finchville announce the birth of their son, Ezekiel Micah Davis, on June 30, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East. He weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce and was 20 1/2 inches long. He was welcomed home by a brother, Elijah Davis. His grandparents are John and Belinda Shindlebower and Mike and Joanie Davis. His great-grandparents are Ben and Linda Rake and Loraine Baker.
