  • Shindlebower elected to Seven Counties board

    Steve Moss, chair of Seven Counties Services, Inc.’s board of directors, announces the election of John Shindlebower to its board.

    Shindlebower will represent Spencer County on the Seven Counties’ board.
    He is currently the associate director of communications for Sunrise Children’s Services, but has spent nearly 20 years in community journalism as reporter, editor and general manager.

  • BIRTH: Carrolls welcome Madison Faith

    Steven and Stephanie Carroll of Mount Eden announce the birth of their daughter, Madison Faith Carroll, on Dec. 22, 2011, at 9:11 p.m.

    She weighed 7 pounds and was 21 inches long.
    Her maternal grandparents are Mike and Cheryl Klotz of Taylorsville.
    Her paternal grandparents are Robert and Tammy Vanderpool of London.
    Great-grandparents are Ben and Carol Fessler of Crestwood, Frederick Klotz III of Taylorsville and Jim and Peggy Allison of Louisville.

  • ENGAGEMENT: Heady, Curtsinger announce engagement

    Dollie Heady and Justin LeeWayne Curtsinger, both of Shelbyville, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is a daughter of Paula and Robert Wayne Heady of Mount Eden.
    The groom-to-be is a son of Rebecca Fair and Jesse and Amanda Curtsinger, of Spencer County.
    A fall wedding is planned in Shepherdsville, but a date and time are yet to be determined.
    Invitations will be sent.

  • BIRTH: Abigail Rose born Dec. 13

    Chris and Jessica Limpp of Taylorsville announce the birth of their daughter, Abigail Rose Limpp, on Dec. 13, 2011, at 2:32 p.m. at Suburban Hospital in Louisville.

    She weighed 7 pounds and was 16 inches long.
    She was welcomed home by a sister, Alexandra Jameson.

  • BIRTH: Welcome, baby McClain

    Jessica and Shelby McClain announce the birth of their baby brother, David Carlton McClain, on Sept. 8, 2011.

    David weighed 9 pounds, 2 ounces.
    His parents are Derrick and Amanda McClain of Bardstown.
    Grandparents are Mike and Teresa Haynes of Little Mount, Bobby and Terri Johnson of Fern Creek, and Garry McClain of Bardstown.

  • ANNIVERSARY: Millers to celebrate 60th anniversary

    The family of Alvin and Lois (Fletcher) Miller would like to invite family and friends to help celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on January 21 from 2-4 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church in Shelbyville.

    The couple was married at the Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville on Jan. 30, 1952.  
    They have five children and seven grandchildren. The couple reside on their farm in Shelbyville.

    Marvin Eugene and Anna Frances Satterly Ockerman celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Dec. 23, 2011, and Christmas holiday with family at the Ockerman’s home in Bardstown.

    Jennifer Stidham and Ryan Thornhill were married on Oct. 15, 2011. The couple was wed at the Caldwell Chapel Louisville Presbyterian Seminary by Pastor Dale Decker.

    Danielle Nicole Burke would like to announce the birth of her son, Bradley Michael Burke, who was born Dec. 12, 2011, 8:22 a.m., at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.

  • Spears recognized for generous donation to UK pharmacy school

    Larry H. Spears, formerly of Taylorsville, was recently recognized for his gift of $1 million to the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy.
