  • ANNIVERSARY: Keelings celebrate 48th anniversary

    Evan and Donna Keeling celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary at their home on Burns Lane in the Little Union area. They were married in Livingston, Tenn., on March 7, 1964. They have three children, Timothy (Nina) Keeling, Amy (Charlie) Mattingly and Stephen (Stacy) Keeling; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. They are members of Little Union Baptist Church.   • WEDDING: Chesser, Moffett exchange vows

    Shelia Chesser and Daniel Moffett were united in marriage on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at their home.

    The bride is a daughter of the late Ivy D. and Leon Chesser.
    The groom is a son of Kenneth Moffett and the late Lois Ann Gill.
    The ceremony was performed by friend and pastor Wayne Brown.

  • Lewis completes basic combat training

    Army Reserve Pvt. Daniel R. Lewis has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.
    During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics.

  • 90th birthday celebration for G.W. Washburn

    Family and friends are invited to celebrate G.W. Washburn’s 90th birthday with a party on Sunday.

    The party will be at the Taylorsville-Spencer County Fire Department on Water Street from 2 to 5 p.m.
    The family requests no gifts.
    Dessert will be served.

    Nikki and Josh Waldridge of Taylorsville announce the birth of their son, Lucas James Carter Waldridge, on Nov. 16, 2011, at 12:16 p.m. at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville.

  • Goodall celebrates 90th birthday

    Irene Goodall, second from right, celebrated her 90th birthday with family on Jan. 3 in Taylorsville. Goodall has nine children, several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

  • Shindlebower elected to Seven Counties board

    Steve Moss, chair of Seven Counties Services, Inc.’s board of directors, announces the election of John Shindlebower to its board.

    Shindlebower will represent Spencer County on the Seven Counties’ board.
    He is currently the associate director of communications for Sunrise Children’s Services, but has spent nearly 20 years in community journalism as reporter, editor and general manager.

  • BIRTH: Carrolls welcome Madison Faith

    Steven and Stephanie Carroll of Mount Eden announce the birth of their daughter, Madison Faith Carroll, on Dec. 22, 2011, at 9:11 p.m.

    She weighed 7 pounds and was 21 inches long.
    Her maternal grandparents are Mike and Cheryl Klotz of Taylorsville.
    Her paternal grandparents are Robert and Tammy Vanderpool of London.
    Great-grandparents are Ben and Carol Fessler of Crestwood, Frederick Klotz III of Taylorsville and Jim and Peggy Allison of Louisville.

  • ENGAGEMENT: Heady, Curtsinger announce engagement

    Dollie Heady and Justin LeeWayne Curtsinger, both of Shelbyville, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is a daughter of Paula and Robert Wayne Heady of Mount Eden.
    The groom-to-be is a son of Rebecca Fair and Jesse and Amanda Curtsinger, of Spencer County.
    A fall wedding is planned in Shepherdsville, but a date and time are yet to be determined.
