    Melissa Monroe and Scott Humphrey announce the birth of their daughter, Emma Grace Humphrey, born Sept. 4, 2011. She weighed 5 pounds, 7 ounces and was 18 inches long.

    Her grandparents are Nancy and Alton Humphrey of Taylorsville and Barbara and David Rogers of Shelbyville.
    Great-grandparents are Margaret and Simon Humphrey and Rosemary King, all of Shelbyville.
    Emma is also welcomed by a big sister, Kaylee Monroe.

  • House graduates from Univ. of Indianapolis

    Becky House, Physical Therapist and owner of Spencer County Physical Therapy, graduated in 1994 from the University of Louisville with a double bachelor’s degree, one for Physical Therapy and the second in Business Administration.

  • Local resident to celebrate 90th birthday

    The family of Clyeda Hardin invites all friends to a 90th birthday celebration. The birthday party will be held in the fellowship hall of Elk Creek Baptist Church on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. No gifts please.
     

  • ENGAGEMENT: Yates, King to marry Oct. 1

    James Patrick King and Stephanie Yates, both of Bloomfield, announce their upcoming marriage on Saturday, Oct. 1, at  Elk Creek Baptist Church.

    Stephanie is the daughter of Shelia Yates and Barry  Yates. Patrick is the son of Rolla Jean Walker and the late Thomas L. King Jr., of Taylorsville. The couple plans to reside in Bloomfield. Formal invitations have been sent.

  • BIRTH: Rodney Dean born Aug. 25

    Katy and Rodney Sidebottom II announce the birth of their son, Rodney Dean Sidebottom III, on Aug. 25, 2011, at Baptist Hospital East. He was born at 5:44 p.m., weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 21 inches long. His grandparents are Rodney Sr. and Sheila Sidebottom and Rick and Shari Randall.

    His great-grandparents are Mildred Nation and the late Tommy Nation of Taylorsville, the late Jack and Ella Day of Taylorsville, Elizabeth and Richard Pomei of Florida, and Patricia and George Randall of Ohio. His uncle is Joseph Sidebottom and his aunt is Julie Randall.

  • BIRTH: Elijah Nicholas born July 26

    Nick and Christi Davis of Taylorsville announce the birth of their son, Elijah Nicholas Davis, on July 26, 2011, at 1:51 a.m. at Baptist Hospital East.
    He weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces, and was 18.5 inches long.
    His grandparents are John and Belinda Shindlebower and Mike and Joanie Davis. His great-grandparents are Loraine Baker, Ben and Linda Rake, and Robert and Virginia Davis.

  • ENGAGEMENT: Pearson, Loafman to wed

    Terry and Fonza Pearson of Bowling Green announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Meredith Pearson, to Adam Loafman.

    The groom-to-be is a son of Gerald and Peggy Ware Loafman and a grandson of Katherine Ware and the late Howard Ware of Taylorsville. The wedding is planned for Oct. 1 at Iron Bridge Farms in Bowling Green.

    Chris Simmons and Sarah Stump announce the birth of their son, Bryan Christopher Simmons Jr., born June 27, 2011, at Baptist Hospital East.

    Bryan was born at 6:26 p.m., weighing 9 pounds, 2 ounces, and was 20 inches long.
    His paternal grandparents are John Simmons and Michele Prestigiacomo. Maternal grandparents are David Stump Sr. and Ellen Darlene Shields-Stump.

    Robert L. and Anne E. Walton of Taylorsville announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Deanna E. Walton, to Tyler Shores, son of Ross Shores of North Carolina and Nancy Shores of Elizabethtown.

    The bride-to-be is a niece of Dennis and Betty Merz of Falls City, Neb., and John and Laurie Peltier of Long Branch, Wash.
    The groom-to-be is a foster son of Momma Holmes.
    A wedding is set for July 21, 2012 at the Mellwood Art Center.
