  • Knapps to celebrate 50th anniversary

    Duck and Darlene Knapp of Mount Washington will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 19.

  • Fowler retires from Air National Guard

    Master Sgt. Thomas S. Fowler retired from the Ky. Air National Guard after 30 years of service.
    He is the father of Bryan and Samantha Fowler.
    He is a son of Tom and Mary Fowler.

  • Tinsley graduates from lineman program

    Andrew Tinsley graduated July 28 from the lineman training program at Somerset Community College as a Class C lineman.

    He completed an additional program in smart grid hardware training for digital metering. Tinsley is now certified CDL Class A, pole climbing, flagging, bucket rescue, pole top rescue, first aid and CPR. He is a son of Jeff and Beth Tinsley and a grandson of Bill and Shelia Tinsley, Jean Walker and the late Tom King. He was recently hired by Elliot Electric in Lexington, and planned to start working for the company on Monday.

  • Cantrell participates in pageant

    Danielle Cantrell, pictured at right, participated in the 2011 Kentucky National American Miss Pageant on July 30 and 31. She was a finalist in the teen division.

    She is a daughter of Kristy Cantrell of Little Mount, granddaughter of Charles Davis of Little Mount and granddaughter of Kathy and Bill Kyser of Waterford.
     

  • Hardin retires from justice department

    Larry Ray Hardin has retired from the Department of Justice after serving 31 years. Hardin attended Taylorsville school before entering the Navy and Marines. He is the son of Elizabeth Johnson Hardin and Ray Hardin Jr., of Bardstown.

    He is the grandson of Ray and Sarah Hardin, of Taylorsville, and Mattie and Edward Johnson, of Bardstown. Hardin has several relatives in Spencer and surrounding counties. He resides part-time in San Diego, Calif., and Rota, Spain.

  • Goodlett, Iannuzzi to wed Saturday at Ruritan Club

    Ashley Danielle Goodlett and Ryan Iannuzzi of Taylorsville announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is a daughter of Joann and Mike Patton and Chad Goodlett of Mount Eden.

    The groom-to-be is a son of Debi and Earl Vanmeter of Taylorsville. A wedding is planned for Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the Mount Eden Ruritan Club.

    The couple is planning a honeymoon in Nashville and will make their home in Taylorsville.

  • Norah June born July 21

    Norah June Tolle, daughter of Danielle Allgeier and Allen Tolle, of Taylorsville, was born July 21, 12:35 p.m., at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.

    She weighed 7 pounds, 11.6 ounces, and was 20.5 inches long. Her grandparents are Steve and Barbara Tolle, of Taylorsville, and Tina Allgeier, of Bardstown. Her great-grandparents are “Junie” and Peggy Allgeier, of Bardstown; Jerry and Johnni Tolle, of Louisville; and Thelma Bowman, of Taylorsville.

  • Taylor, Lewis to wed

    Danielle Taylor and Bobby Lewis, both of Taylorsville, announce their upcoming marriage on Saturday at St. Paul United Methodist Church.

    Taylor is the daughter of Bill and Sarita Taylor, of Taylorsville. Lewis is the son of the late Jerry Lewis and Linda Lewis, of Harlan.  The couple plans to reside in Taylorsville. Formal invitations have been sent.

  • Geary, Goodlett to be married

    Joseph and Helen Geary and Ronnie and Kathy Goodwin would like to announce the upcoming marriage of their children, Heather Marie Geary and Nicholas Dean Goodlett.

    The couple is to be wed Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church on 1286 Briar Ridge Road. A reception will follow at the Spencer County Community Center. The couple will reside in Taylorsville. Family and friends are invited.

  • Kappesser, Divine to wed

    Scott and Susan Kappesser of Mount Washington announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ashley Kappesser, to Mike Divine, son of Mark aand Karen Divine of Taylorsville.

    A wedding is planned for Aug. 5 at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Mount Washington.
