    Victory Road to perform at
    Elk Creek Baptist

    Elk Creek Baptist Church is excited to welcome Victory Road, a great local southern gospel group to the church at 5734 Elk Creek Rd. on February 24 at 7 p.m. for an evening of worship. A love offering will be received to help support the ministry of these men and their families. All are welcome to come, relax, and feel the Spirit.

  • Best kind of love

    So today is one of those days that some of us love and some of us dread.  Those who love it look forward to flowers and evenings out and maybe a box of chocolates or something.  Then those of us who dread Valentine’s Day may be wondering how it slipped up on them, how they are going to pay for that nice dinner out, or they may be found wandering down the card aisle at the local big box store wondering why the Easter cards are out already!

    Installation ceremony for Rev. Lewis

    On Sunday, January 28 at 4 p.m., an installation ceremony to welcome the new pastor, Rev. John A. Lewis, will be held at Second Baptist Church in Taylorsville at 4 p.m.

    AA meetings at three locations

    The following AA meetings are offered locally:
    • Tuesdays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 410 Main Cross.
    • Wednesdays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Extension Office, 100 Oak Way.

  • Unexpected blessings

    Over the holidays, I had to stop at the grocery store on the way home.  As I was getting out of my car, a little boy and his father got out of the car a few spots down.  The little boy began running toward the store and Dad naturally called out, “Slow Down!”

    On Sunday, January 28 at 4 p.m., an installation ceremony to welcome the new pastor, Rev. John A. Lewis, will be held at Second Baptist Church in Taylorsville, at 4 p.m.

  • State still working on Bible literacy guidelines

    The Kentucky Department of Education is still developing standards for Bible literacy courses taught in Kentucky schools which meet the guidelines set last year by the state’s General Assembly as well as meeting constitutional standards.

  • The perfect word of God

    We apprehend this is not a perfect world and as humans we constantly make mistakes. However, when it comes to the Bible, there is a major difference. This book might have been transcribed by mere mortals, but its content is not from this world.
