  • What does your face say?

Do you notice the people in the other cars as you drive down the road? I mean sure, we watch for turn signals and to get hints of how that person is driving, but do you ever actually see that person?

Sometimes on a highway you get a few seconds to really observe someone.  I’ve seen ladies putting on make-up, and I even remember one guy who was driving and reading the newspaper. Talk about distracted driving, and that was way before cell phones.

  • Two kinds of people

A lot of jokes and stories start with, “There are two kinds of people in the world.”  Here is my contribution. There are two kinds of people, those that love to mow the lawn and those that don’t

I fall in the latter category. I love the fall when the lawn stops growing.  I love it when I can stow the mower and the trimmer for the winter.  On the other hand, I like a well kept lawn, so I get out there every week and get it done.

  • Putting on our glasses

When I was a kid riding in the car on long trips with my parents, I used to try to read the signs way out in front of us.  I always wanted to read them before my Dad.  I don’t know why really, it was just a thing we did.

  • Anything or everything?

We are often times amazed by the simplest things in this world–a world that appears to be able to show us, or give us anything. However, if you really want to be amazed, look beyond the “anything” this world has to offer, because “anything” implies that the world can only offer what it already has.
