  • COLUMN: Forgive them, Father

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 23:32-34 says, “Two others also, who were criminals, were led away to be put to death with Him (Jesus). And when they came to the place, which is called ‘The Skull,’ there they crucified Him (Jesus), and the criminals, one on the right and one on the left. And Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.’ ”

  • COLUMN: Phones: We are constantly updating

Everybody reading this has had phones around their entire life. But think how much phones have changed recently. The telephone was invented in 1876 and in 1891 the first dial telephones were invented. That basic phone stayed the same for the next 74 years until 1963 when Bell Systems invented the “touch tone” phone, which was still pretty easy. My grandparents’ whole life they had simple and stress free telephones.

  • COLUMN: Pillows: Find comfort, strength and support in Jesus

What kind of pillow do you like on your bed?  Most people have some sort of foam pillow these days, but some people still love feather pillows.  I’ve even heard of buckwheat husk pillows, I understand they are very heavy.  Some people like hard pillows, some like them soft, some, like me, can’t make up their minds and have several pillows on the bed.

  • COLUMN: It’s OK to be ‘straw’

You probably never think about straw, and frankly I usually don’t either. But I have a bale of straw in my garage and spring is coming so I’m thinking once again about trying to get my lawn looking better. Spread a little grass seed and cover it with a little straw to help hold the moisture in and keep the wind from blowing the seeds away.

  • COLUMN: ‘The greatest of these is love’

I Corinthians 13:4-13, says, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. …And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.”
The apostle Paul sure had a beautiful way of describing love, didn’t he?
